Cottage Lake Garden Club was established in 2006.  The original members included some expert gardeners who had studied horticulture.  Some were self taught gardeners while others were novices.  Monthly meetings gave them the opportunity to learn by sharing ideas and knowledge.

Mission and Objectives:

  • Provide a forum for members to share their mutual love of gardening;
  • Present opportunities to learn more about horticulture by going together on field trips such as garden tours, flower shows, garden talks and other similar garden related activities;
  • Afford opportunities to socialize with fellow members in supportive and enjoyable ways;
  • Offer participation in a variety of community based civic beautification, horticulture projects and outreach projects.

Meetings

CLGC meetings are held on the second Monday of the month January through October.  Meetings begin at 10:00 am and end promptly by 1:00 pm. Our meetings are held in member's homes on a rotation basis.

Membership

Our club accepts new members into our group in October.  Annual dues are $30.  If you are interested in joining our club, please contact us.  We would like to invite you to accompany us on a garden tour or project so you can meet us in a social setting to see if our garden club is a good fit for you.

Activities

Cottage Lake Garden Club is a Non-Profit organization sponsoring regular meetings. Our meetings include horticultural presentations by members or guest speakers.  We conduct plant sales, organize community beautification projects and tour gardens together.  We adopt a family in need at Christmas.  The club has several socials during the year.  If a member has an illness or stressful situation, we love to lend a helping hand by providing meals and tending their garden.  Members are asked to actively participate in club meetings and community projects.  We understand life happens so it isn't always possible to participate in every activity, but the point of joining a garden club is to develop your skills and reach out to the community.
